Rate Entries
In an effort to continually improve the Hoppy Possum experience for both brewers and attendees, we rolled out a new peoples choice rating system for the 2024 Hoppy Possum. You may have noticed we have not used the term “voting”. This is because we are no longer collecting a limited number of votes from each attendee, but rather allowing every attendee to rate (1 to 5 stars) as many entries as they like.
This year we have partnered with FestiVote to manage and streamline the peoples choice rating process.
How to rate entries
An attendee who wishes to rate an entry can do so by scanning the QR at the brewers booth for that entry.
To prevent rating by anyone other than those in attendance, a log-in code (found on your festival wristband) is required to be entered only once, before rating for the first time.
When scanned, the rating scale (1-5 stars) will be displayed for that entry only.
Attendees are able to rate as many entries as they like. An attendee is only able to rate each entry once.
The results are calculated using a Weighted Rating based on a Bayesian average calculation on the data set.
As in previous years, the top 5 beer entries and the top 3 non-beer entries will move on the the final judging panel.
